Yes. We serve all of Iowa, not just the largest metros. Families in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Davenport and in rural and outlying counties are all within our coverage. Interactive Youth Transport operates in all 50 states and internationally, and every transport is directed by a masters-level licensed clinician (LMSW-CASAC).
How quickly can a team reach a family in Iowa?
We are available 24 hours a day and same-day activation is often possible in Iowa, depending on location and travel availability. Our nearest staffed coverage is Dallas, and our regional hubs in Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York give teams fast access to most of the country. Call (214) 296-9212 and a clinician, not a call centre, will pick up.
Who can legally authorize a transport for a Iowa teen?
A parent or legal guardian, or a legal decision maker acting under a court order or conservatorship. All paperwork is aligned before a team is activated. We do not proceed without confirmed legal authority.
Will my teen be physically restrained?
Only as a last resort to prevent imminent harm, after verbal de-escalation has been attempted, and only with safe non-mechanical holds. Any hold is reassessed every 10 minutes and released as soon as it is safe. Our historical average is under 2% of all transports. We are a relational, trauma-informed service, not an extraction-based one.
How many staff members travel with my teen?
A minimum of two: a lead and a secondary, gender-matched to the client, with larger teams when clinically indicated. Every staff member is background-checked and certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid, and the full roster is registered through the State of Utah's teen transport staff approval process.
What does adolescent transport from Iowa cost?
Pricing depends on distance, travel mode, timing, and case complexity. Families receive a written itemized quote up front, typically within about an hour of the intake call, and that quote has historically never been revised after the fact. Payment is generally required before activation, and split arrangements are considered case by case.
Does insurance cover the cost of transport?
Transport is usually classified as non-medical and is not directly covered by insurance. We provide itemized invoices that families can submit for out-of-network behavioral health reimbursement.
Can you transport a teen from Iowa to a program in another state?
Yes. Most of our work is interstate. We regularly move adolescents from Iowa to residential treatment, wilderness therapy, and therapeutic boarding schools across the country, and we complete a documented clinical handoff with the receiving program on arrival.
What happens if my teen refuses to go?
This is one of the most common situations we handle. Our teams are trained in verbal de-escalation and relational engagement, and we work with your family to build the conditions in which your teen can accept help. A licensed clinician is involved at every stage of the plan.

Where We Work, and How We Work
Coast Health Consulting operates out of Los Angeles, the Greater Dallas and Austin regions, and New York City, but our services extend far beyond those locations. We are a mobile, adaptive support system with a national reach—and the capability to build customized networks wherever support is needed.
Our work is grounded in the environments where real life happens. That may be in a client’s home, in a courtroom, on a school campus, or during a family meeting. We do not wait for change to happen in a session. We show up where it starts.
Every plan is developed in close partnership with the client and their support system. We create structure that is practical, clinical, and personal—moving with the client, not just working around them.
Coast Health Consulting isan Interactive Health Company, along with Interactive Youth Transport (IYT). Together, we provide coordinated, clinically grounded support across moments of transition and long-term behavioral health care. Our teams share a commitment to structure, integrity, and outcomes that create lasting impact for clients and families alike.
