Interactive - Youth Transpsort from our Dallas HQ

Interactive Youth Transport was founded in Dallas, Texas in 2017. And while we have grown to expand our cross country Hubs & International Reach. We are a Texas company aiming to serve the state of Texas in line with its history of excellence and innovation within the greater healthcare field. Our model is designed to exceed the current standards in both client care and in measurable outcomes leading to greater treatment integration and overall therapeutic experiences throughout the continuity of care.

We approach transport as a pivotal clinical moment. The initial relationship development period that directly influences a teens long term success. This framework was developed by Bobby Tredinnick LMSW-CASAC, Interactive’s CEO and Clinical Lead and described in the presentation, “Clinically Integrated Transport: The Liminal States in Youth Involuntary Transport.”

In addition, through both a mobile and web application developed by Interactive called IYT Compass, families and treatment teams can monitor the movement of our staff during the transport in real time, communicate securely with the transport team and receive updates and maintain visibility throughout the transition process — a level of transparency and coordination that extends beyond minimum regulatory standards.

Where It All Started

Texas is not just where we are headquartered. It is our company developed into the preeminent transport company in the United States. Many of our staff at our Dallas HQ have been with the company since the first transport in 2017. Our Transport Lead Dominic, has led thousands of transports, to every state in the United States, with an unprecedented success rate. Texas is where our first relationships with treatment programs were developed and expanded across the state and beyond. Every process we use today, from our Summit Transportation Model to our clinical-first ideology and intervention framework, they were developed and pressure-tested on Texas cases first. The gratitude we’ve received from families that trusted us, many of which we maintain relationships with to this day, as well as the world class professionals in this state that through collaboration built the foundation of our national network. Texas is Interactive Youth Transport and the greater Interactive Health Companies Home.

We have served families in every major metro in Texas and in towns most transport companies have never heard of. Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, Odessa, Corpus Christi, McAllen, Brownsville, Tyler, Waco, College Station, and everywhere in between. Texas is big. We know every mile of it.

Texas Teen Treatment Transport With Clinical Strength And Real Support

Youth Transportation Services for Texas Families

Every Texas transport is overseen by a licensed clinician. Two-person teams trained in trauma-informed engagement, de-escalation, and motivational interviewing. They show up calm, prepared, and trained to connect with your child when connection feels impossible.

The hours between your home and the receiving facility are not dead time. They are the first phase of your child's treatment. How those hours are handled determines whether your teen arrives regulated and open to engagement or shut down and resistant. We treat that window with the clinical seriousness it deserves.

Texas Intervention Services

Some Teens may benefit from a formal Intervention process. In those cases where that choice is made we come in and work with the family to set the stage for a meaningful communication.

Interactive Youth Transport provides certified intervention services throughout Texas. Our approach is not the reality TV version of an intervention. It is a structured, clinician-led process designed to create conditions where your teen can accept help. We work with the family system, existing therapists, educational consultants, and the receiving treatment program to build a plan that accounts for your teen's specific psychology, triggers, and family dynamics.

Our Texas intervention services include:

  • In-home adolescent and young adult intervention in Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and statewide

  • Pre-intervention family coaching so parents know exactly what to expect and how to participate

  • Coordination with therapeutic consultants and treatment placement professionals

  • Licensed clinician involvement from planning through execution

  • Direct transition from intervention to transport with no handoff to a separate provider

  • Post-intervention family support and aftercare guidance through Coast Health Consulting

When the intervention leads to a treatment placement, our team handles everything that follows. Your child moves through one continuous clinical experience instead of being passed between disconnected companies.

Medium-Term Support and Transitional Companion Services

Not every situation calls for immediate transport to a residential program. Sometimes families need something in between. A teen may be waiting for a bed to open at a treatment center. They may have just been discharged and are not ready to go home. They may need stabilization before a longer placement can begin. Or the family may need time to make a decision while keeping their child safe and supported.

This is what we call a medium hold. It is a structured, clinician-supported engagement where our team remains with your teen for days or weeks in a controlled, supportive environment. It is not treatment and it is not just supervision. It is active clinical engagement designed to maintain safety, build rapport, and prepare your child for whatever comes next.

Medium holds are appropriate when:

  • A treatment program has accepted your teen but the start date is days or weeks away

  • Your teen has been discharged from one level of care and needs support before stepping down

  • The family is in crisis and needs immediate safety while a longer-term plan is developed

  • A teen is between programs and needs structure and clinical engagement during the gap

  • Travel logistics require a multi-day timeline due to international placement or complex routing

Our teams maintain therapeutic engagement, daily structure, and real-time family communication throughout every medium hold. These are not warehousing situations. They are clinically purposeful transitions managed by trained professionals.

Companion Services: The Highest Degree of Individualized Care

Companion services through Interactive Health’s Coast Health Consulting, IYT’s sister company, represent the most intensive, personalized behavioral health support available. A trained clinical companion is selected from our national network of coaches and professionals for their fit to that individual client. They are then placed directly with your teen to guide them in day to day living, whether that is at home, at school, at a sober living, or in a transitional setting. The companion is there every day, building a real relationship, providing structure and accountability, and working toward measurable goals, and most of all taking accountability for their life and its future.

Our companions are selected for their ability to break through the walls that adolescents and young adults put up. Each one brings a unique combination of life experience, clinical training, and genuine ability to connect. They earn trust by showing up consistently, being honest, and pushing your teen to build a life they actually want.

Companion services are used for:

  • Aftercare following residential treatment when the transition home needs daily clinical support

  • Young adults at college or university who need structure and accountability to stay on track

  • Teens who have failed multiple treatment placements and need a fully individualized approach

  • Families who want around the clock clinical oversight without the institutional setting of a treatment facility

  • International families with children in US schools or programs who need a local support system

For families who have already invested in programs that did not produce lasting results, companion services offer something fundamentally different. One person, fully dedicated to your child, building the kind of relationship and accountability that no group program can replicate. Our companion clients regularly engage for one to six months, and the outcomes speak for themselves.

Case Management for Texas Families

Through Coast Health Consulting, we provide ongoing clinical case management for Texas families who need sustained coordination across providers, programs, schools, and family systems. Case management is for families who are not in acute crisis but need someone keeping all the pieces together.

Your case manager coordinates communication between therapists, psychiatrists, school administrators, treatment programs, and family members. They track progress, flag concerns before they become crises, and ensure that the plan everyone agreed to is actually being followed. For families with complex situations involving multiple providers, co-occurring diagnoses, or legal involvement, case management is the difference between a coordinated care plan and chaos.

DFW: The Operational Advantage

Our Dallas headquarters is our strategic advantage that allows us to provide a service nationally, where logistics dont hav to dictate what company to trust. DFW remains one of the affordable and connected airports in the United States and allows us to reach virtually anywhere domestic in a 4 hour flight. That means faster deployment, lower airfare costs that we pass through to families. We also to this day, no matter where the transport destination: we have driven it, and remain flexible so we can adapt to every clients needs

For Texas families specifically, our local presence means ground transport across the state is often the simplest and most cost-effective option. Dallas to Houston, Dallas to Austin, Dallas to San Antonio, all manageable by ground without the complexity of airports. For cases requiring air travel, we work through DFW, Dallas Love Field, Houston Intercontinental, Houston Hobby, Austin-Bergstrom, San Antonio, and El Paso depending on the route.

What Texas Families Can Do Right Now

You do not need a perfect plan. You need a starting point. If your teen is in crisis, here is what helps.

Write a brief summary of the last two weeks. What changed, what escalated, and what helps your teen regulate. Secure medications and remove access to alcohol and substances. Reduce stimulation in the home and keep interactions brief and predictable. If you have a therapist or psychiatrist, loop them in and ask for notes that will help a receiving program. Pack comfortable clothing, medical necessities, and one familiar comfort item.

Trust your instincts, don’t over think your way out of the logical conclusion. Call us. Share your notes. We will confirm next steps, route, and timing. You will know who is coming, when they arrive, and what to expect through arrival and handoff.

What training does your transport team have?
Every transport is overseen by a licensed behavioral health clinician. Our team is trained in trauma-informed care, crisis de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and adolescent behavioral health. Staff hold credentials including LMSW, CASAC, and related licensure. We also train specifically for complex cases including autism spectrum, substance use, co-occurring diagnoses, and high-acuity behavioral presentations.
Does insurance cover transport?
Not currently. Transport services are not covered by insurance at this time. We are hopeful that as the behavioral health industry evolves, coverage for clinically supervised transport will follow. We work with families to provide transparent pricing and can coordinate with educational consultants and treatment teams who may help families navigate funding options.
How much advance notice do you need?
In a perfect world, 48 to 72 hours. But this is not a perfect world and we understand that. We can typically respond and be en route to the pickup location within a few hours of the first call, pending completion of our pre-transport paperwork. Our Dallas headquarters and national team positioning allow us to mobilize quickly when the situation demands it.
Do you use physical force during transport?
We are the pre-eminent clinical authority in adolescent transport and our goal is to provide a transport experience that adds value to the client's overarching treatment and initial program integration. We avoid any potentially negative experience whenever possible. Our training and approach means physical force is almost never necessary. Less than 2% of all transports, including cases where other companies have failed and we were called in, have required any type of physical intervention. In the rare instances where an adolescent becomes a danger to themselves or others, we utilize appropriate best practices to maintain safety. These situations are typically brief, lasting 15 minutes or less, and once the adolescent is outside the home environment and away from the family dynamics they are accustomed to acting out in, the need for any intervention virtually disappears. From that point forward, we focus on giving the client as much agency and decision-making power as possible throughout the rest of the transport.
What is the difference between a companion and a therapist?
A therapist sees your teen for an hour a week in an office. A companion is with your teen in their actual life, every day, navigating real situations in real time. They build a relationship through shared experience, not scheduled sessions. Companions work alongside existing therapists and treatment teams, not as a replacement for clinical therapy.
Do you work with attorneys, courts, or child protective services?
Yes. We work with family law attorneys, guardians ad litem, CPS caseworkers, and court-appointed professionals throughout Texas. Our documentation and clinical oversight meet the standards required for cases involving legal or custody complexities.
What if we are not sure treatment is the right move yet?
Call us anyway. A consultation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Sometimes families just need someone who has seen hundreds of these situations to help them think clearly about what the next step actually is.
